Edenwald Welcomes Volunteers
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
At Edenwald, we encourage those 16 and up to volunteer! There are many opportunities for you to lend your energy and enthusiasm to our community. As a volunteer, you’ll engage with residents through a range of fun, enriching activities, such as:
- Bringing a special talent to share (such as music, armchair travel, and others)
- Calling bingo numbers
- Assisting with various programs
- Playing cards or games with residents
- Friendly visitor for individual residents

STUDENT VOLUNTEERS
Towson-area college students are welcome to apply – your time and commitment as a volunteer is a great way to gain insights into any future profession working with older adults.
Towson-area high school students can gain Maryland’s service-learning graduation requirement hours volunteering on a healthcare unit.
Through our volunteer experience students will
- Share compassion and empathy by showing genuine care for residents and understanding their abilities.
- Learn about patience and adaptability by connecting with them with a focus on their strengths.
- Show Reliability & Respect by arriving as scheduled and, be positive and honor privacy of each older adult
- Active Engagement by being proactive in offering help or starting conversations with elders.
PETS ON WHEELS and PET THERAPY VISITS
We welcome volunteers from Pets on Wheels and other pet therapy-certified animals to visit at Edenwald. All pets must first be approved by Pets on Wheels or other verified pet therapy programs. Certification and health records must be submitted prior to visiting our residents.
